It’s so cold, rainy, and miserable out today. I can get no answer out of mother about what board I should pay her so I suppose the old procedure will go on. She remains silent on the subject.
Babu’s mother finally gave her an answer in October:

I forgot to mention Saturday that I’m managing my own salary. Mom and Dad thought it over, I guess and decided to let me try. I am to pay them $5.00 a week.

This noon I bought a pair of alligator shoes, paying $80.75 for them. No doubt I’ll never get another pair of shoes at that price.
Wow, Babu! I keep finding vintage ads and they are selling the shoes for around six or seven dollars. I can’t imagine what shoes she’s buying for that price. What gives me that feeling?
