Help! Can you suggest song titles?

Hello everyone.  Some of you know this already, but Babu is turning 100 in March!  We, of course, are having a whopping party and I am going to make a video slide for the special event.  When I make videos like this I like to choose three songs and that’s where I need your help.  They don’t need to be on a birthday or a 100 theme.  I’d like a mix of oldies and new ones.  I want upbeat and fitting and I wont know what’s fitting until I hear it.  (This is where you are coming in.)

Here are some songs I was thinking:

If I live to be  hundred – Ronnie Dove

100 years to live – Five for Fighting  (Maybe a little too negative – I don’t want to say 100 is it!)

Fire and the Flood  Vance Joy (just feels right)

Maroon 5 Sunday Morning (Speaks to Babu’s romantic side – she is a whole person!)

There is Emily by Frank Sinatra – quite low key but could certainly work.

As you can see this list is all over the place and quite on purpose.  Please comment and share suggestions.  I know you out there know the perfect song to go with her slide show video!

I would try and pick songs from each of the decades she’s lived through- you could research the top 5 or 10 that year? And what’s her fav type- jazz, rock and roll, classical? You could play a selection to her and gauge her response as to which ones to include? I love Doris Day ones, disco tracks from the 70s, Elvis… the list goes on! What a lovely idea : ) G

Are you looking for only english songs? Or are you okay with any language?

How about “I’m sitting on top of the world”
I always liked my parents’ records like “No strings and No Connections” or it might be called “Fancy Free”
Anyway, have fun choosing, and have a simply marvellous birthday for Babu, bless her.

  6. There are several other Frank Sinatra songs that come to mind, and I bet Babu is a Sinatra fan. “My Way” might seem too prescient, but how about “Luck be a Lady Tonight” or “The Best is Yet to Come,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” or “Young at Heart.”

Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” is always amazing, gorgeous and uplifting, a song that melts everyone who listens.

You are making a celebration that will be a treasure for everyone who attends, especially for Babu. I love the sparkle in her eyes. Happy Birthday to her and 100 more!

    Hi,
Is Babu your mom? or granny? You’re so blessed to be with Babu that long. Happy for you. Wishing her more birthdays to come…

Pick one of her favourites as well. I doubt she knows Maroon 5. Happy 100th birthday.
