Oh my goodness! I have been nominated for the Liebster Award for the second and the third time. Wow. I truly appreciate that. Knowing someone appreciated reading something I wrote has huge significance with me.
The second person to nominate me is Janna Michelle and her blog is called: As She Writes. This is a lovely blog filled not only with lovely words but also a lovely view on the world. This young woman is going to take the world by storm, and change it for the better. Her passions are to be a help to others in need. It’s down right refreshing. She is also a wonderful writer who posts a poem a day, a feat I am very impressed by!
Here are the questions As She Writes asked. Even though Sunday Share is about others I shall answer them. It’s the rules.
- What is your favorite childhood memory?
Walking the woods behind my house. One time my brother took me to “the mouth.” The woods were actually wet lands and there were a few trees that had uprooted and fallen over. Root systems and dirt hung up and over the pit where the tree used to grow and it looked like a mouth. My bro wanted to show me something and we climbed up the tree trunk which had fallen at a vertical angle due to whatever it had landed on. My bro hopped up as did I but I was inching my way up the tree on my butt and he stood upright and began to walk up. So I did, too. I fell off and landed in a pile of leaves. He felt sooooooo bad and I was fine. All to show me a branch of the tree that had broken and when you pulled it back it sizzled sap up out of the wound.
- Would you say you’re an introvert or extrovert and why?
I guess they developed a word that’s for both but I forgot what it was. I talk a lot, I overshare, and hell, I taught in front of a room full of people for 10 years, if teens can be considered people 😉 Against all that evidence, I’m an introvert with slight social anxiety Disorder.
- What is one thing you’d like to accomplish in life an why?
Publishing my work. One thing but many times. Why? I have no idea. I have no idea why I am putting myself through all of this!
- Who is your hero?
David Bowie. I miss him. My students, also.
- You’re given the opportunity to become a fictional character, who do you choose and why?
Suzanna Dean, so I could be a bad ass gunslinger. Also so I can marry Eddie Dean.
- What inspires you to write when you’re out of ideas?
I don’t write when I’m out of ideas. I go out and live. Then I come back and I’m ready.
- What motivates you to write?
Wool suit. I feel like that’s what I am wearing when I’m not writing.
- What is something unique about yourself that most people don’t know?
I clap my hands when I’m anxious or angry. But like a mean clap.
- Why did you fall in love with writing?
It courted me. It wore me down. It wouldn’t give up.
- You’re given the chance to give a speech to world leaders, what is it about?
Combating corporate greed and supporting conflict free materials.
- What is your favorite pastime?
Ummmmm, writing. 😉 Also Lego building and Nerf fighting, theatre, and Pokemon GO.
The Third person to nominate me is Sprout and Sprig. This is a lovely blog as well!
On her about page she writes:
We don’t just want our hands full, we want them dirty, too.
When you read the blog, which you absolutely should!!!!!!! you will understand what that means. It’s a statement I highly respect.
She writes about the farm life, she writes book reviews and she writes wonderful pieces like this:
Here are the questions she asked as a part of her nomination:
- Rainy days, sunny days or snowy days?
As a teacher I would have certainly said: Snowy. Now, with this dry weather and my struggling garden, I’d say rainy. Right now I am craving those days when it’s warm but down pours.
What do you do in your free time?
Write. Ok, I’ll admit it, I also watch a lot of Netflix and Hulu.
What are your five favorite foods?
Things that involve bread and cheese:
pizza
mac and cheese
cheezy garlic bread
crackers and cheeze
alfredo pasta – with veggies.
If you could move anywhere, where would you like to live?
ALL OVER. Or the other answer could be: in an RV
What is your worst habit?
Interrupting conversations, blame it on my ADD baby.
What is your favorite quote?
Right now it’s:
There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you. ~ Maya Angelou
Why did you begin blogging?
To share my grandmother’s awesome story, and as always with writing, to help me process it all.
What is the meaning behind your blog name?
Preserving the memories in my grandmother’s journal by typing them, sharing them, and archiving them.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
This is a mournful question because in five years I will more than likely see myself on the road in aforementioned RV with my hubby.
What is your favorite story about you and your best friend or partner?
There are so many. I guess I can blame a life time of wonderful tales on why I became a writer. Either that or I just see the world in delightful tales because I am a writer.
What is something you’re thankful for?
My time with Babu.
I am going to break the Liebster Award rules here big time and not award anyone else. One reason is that I have won this award before and another is that when I passed this on the last time I learned that a lot of people politely do not accept these awards. I am, however, very happy to have shared these two blogs with you. In case you forgot, here they are again.
Go check them out. I will also continue to complete Sunday Shares every week so I will be sharing wonderful writing and writers with you that way.
you deserve it! loved your answers! and don’t give up on me for accepting your nomination a month ago now-I want it and appreciate it sooo much-got to figure out the link thing and have been away much of the summer, I am glad to see your success!
